The ZO® 3-step stimulator peel was developed by Dr Zein Obagi for ZO® Skin Health. Skin peels are a very effective way to remove damaged skin cells and stimulate new growth but the downtime associated with peels can be off-putting, particularly for busy people. The ZO® Stimulator peel offers reduced recovery time and successfully treats a multitude of skin concerns. It is highly effective in improving the appearance of enlarged pores, wrinkles and fine lines, sun damage, and rough, dry skin. It also addresses pigmentation issues like melasma along with uneven skin tone and acne or blemish-prone skin.
The procedure is completed in 3 steps. Firstly, the peel solution; a blend of salicylic acid, lactic acid and trichloracetic acid is applied to the skin. Secondly, a 6% retinol cream is applied directly after the peel and again five hours later. Finally, a calming cream is used and reapplied several times in the days following the peel. This stimulates healing and minimises the downtime sometimes associated with peel treatments.
